I don’t really like wandering around cities for the sake of urban photography. But I do like photographing cities from a distance. I especially enjoy finding scenes where local ecosystems are in the frame, and landscape blends into cityscape. Sometimes it happens by accident — if you looking for landscapes near a city, the city sometimes creeps into view. But most of the photographs in this gallery are the result of actively searching for a view of the city from amidst nature. I really like to showcase the personality of the local nature that often fuels that city’s outdoor lifestyle.
