Silver Run Falls is a waterfall medium in size but large in charm, located just outside of Cashiers, North Carolina.

Silver Run Falls is probably my favorite waterfall in the Cashiers area of North Carolina. It is large and majestic, but also quiet and intimate. It has become increasingly popular over the years, but early in the morning it’s still a private paradise. The surrounding forest is dense and rather close to the waterfall, so it can be difficult to find new compositions. I took this photograph during a drought, which revealed some cool rock formations under the pool that I had never seen before. That what I love about having haunts rather than always trying somewhere new: when something rare but subtle happens, you notice.
