A beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean is reflected perfectly by wet sand, in Costa Rica's Manuel Antonio National Park.

To me, this photograph from Manuel Antonio National Park simultaneously conveys a sense of action and a sense of tranquility at the same time. The motion of the small wave, as well as the many clouds, give the sense of a world in motion. The reflection of the beautiful Costa Rica sunset, on the other hand, seems to freeze the world in place. The irony is that the reflection was the most fleeting part of this scene, even moreso than the wave. The shimmery film of water only existed for a brief moment between the suds dispersing and the water sinking into the sand. That is what I love about photography. Instead of merely documenting of reality, the artist can tweak it to show the most instantaneous, unexpected moments.
