I took this panoramic photograph on the Ichetucknee River, a protected fresh water spring in northern Florida. For anyone who has been there, you know that Ichetucknee Springs is not ghostly or uninviting at all. It's quite the opposite. It is incredibly beautiful, peaceful, and inviting. But this scene asked my camera to see it a different way. When I exposed for the flower and grass in the foreground, the thick Florida cypress forest caused the background to look very dark. This gave the image a very eerie feeling that I decided to embrace. The fallen log and lone ghostly flower added to the ethereal ambiance.
