Berry Creek Falls In Big Basin
The beautiful Berry Creek Falls is the most iconic waterfall in California’s Big Basin Redwoods State Park
This beautiful waterfall is located in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, California. I’ve spent a lot of time in the western Appalachian Mountains, where the opportunities to photograph waterfalls are seemingly endless. The Santa Cruz Mountains of California, while exceptionally beautiful in their own way, offer fewer options for a waterfall lover. And many of the streams and creeks are seasonal, flowing only in winter and spring. But if you really need a waterfall fix, fear not, for there are indeed some beautiful, albeit somewhat remote, options. Berry Creek Falls Trail is one of the best choices. It’s about a ten mile trail, and you don’t even reach the creek until about halfway in, but the reward is worth it. There’s a handful of stunning waterfalls, including Silver Falls, Lower Golden Cascade, and Upper Golden Cascade. And of course, there’s its namesake: Berry Creek Falls, the one pictured here.
